HTA s.165 makes it an offence to open a vehicle door without first ensuring it will not interfere with or endanger traffic, including cyclists.
HTA s.144(9) prohibits making a turn restricted by a traffic signal and HTA s.182(2) prohibits a turn forbidden by a posted sign, such as no left, right, or U-turns at intersections.
HTA s.160 forbids towing a person on a toboggan, bicycle, skis, or similar device behind a motor vehicle on a highway.
HTA s.182(2) prohibits disobeying an official traffic control sign, including one-way, no-entry, lane-control, or turn-restriction signs.
Under HTA s.140, drivers must stop and remain stopped at a pedestrian crossover and must not pass a vehicle stopped at the crossing.
HTA s.148 requires proper lane use and safe passing, including the one-metre cyclist-passing rule in HTA s.148(6.1).
HTA s.141(2) and s.142(1) require a right turn to be approached from near the curb, completed into the correct lane, and signalled when other road users may be affected.

HTA s.157 restricts reversing on highways and permits it only when the manoeuvre can be made safely and under specified conditions.
HTA s.106(4) requires infants and children to be secured in a seating system or restraint appropriate to their size, as set out in regulation.
HTA s.128(1) defines this offence as driving sixteen to twenty-nine kilometres per hour over the posted speed limit.
HTA s.163(2) makes it an offence to drive a vehicle through, around, or under a railway crossing gate or barrier while it is closed or being lowered, or to enter the crossing while warning signals are active.

HTA s.136 requires a full stop at stop signs, HTA s.146.1 requires compliance with traffic-control stop or slow signs, HTA s.144(18) requires a stop at a red light, and HTA s.163 sets stopping duties at active railway crossings.
HTA s.134(1) makes it an offence for a driver or other road user to disobey any lawful direction given by a police officer engaged in the control of traffic or performing duties on a highway.
HTA s.156(1)(a) makes it an offence to drive against the proper direction or use a median opening improperly on a divided highway.
HTA s.199(1) requires a driver involved in a collision causing injury or apparent property damage exceeding $2,000 to report the incident forthwith to the nearest police officer, and HTA s.199(2) requires the vehicle owner to do so if the driver fails to report.
HTA s.154 requires a driver on a roadway with clearly marked lanes to remain, as nearly as practicable, entirely within a single lane, to change lanes only when it is safe, and to obey any lane direction or control signs or signals.
HTA s.162 makes it an offence for a driver to operate a vehicle with more than one person seated so close in the front seat as to interfere with the driver’s control, and also for any person to sit in a position that interferes with the driver’s control of the vehicle.
HTA s.153 requires vehicles to travel only in the direction designated on a one-way street.
HTA s.134(3) prohibits driving on a highway that has been closed by posted signs or prescribed traffic control devices under lawful authority.
HTA s.157.1 prohibits a driver from crossing, driving through, or entering a raised median, barrier, or dividing space on a divided highway except at a designated opening or crossover, with exceptions for emergency vehicles or those acting under lawful road authority.
HTA s.159(1) requires drivers approaching a stopped emergency vehicle with flashing red or red-and-blue lights to proceed with caution, slow down, and, on multi-lane roads, move into another lane if it can be done safely; HTA s.159(2) applies the same duty to tow trucks and roadside assistance vehicles displaying amber lights, except when separated by a median on a divided highway under s.159(3).
HTA s.159(1) requires drivers on highways with two or more lanes in the same direction to move into another lane away from a stopped emergency vehicle with flashing red or red-and-blue lights if it can be done safely; HTA s.159(2) extends this requirement to tow trucks and roadside assistance vehicles displaying amber lights, and HTA s.159(3) exempts drivers on the opposite side of a divided highway.
HTA s.148 and s.149 prohibit overtaking another vehicle in an unsafe manner, including passing on the right where not allowed, failing to leave sufficient clearance, cutting in too soon, or passing when approaching a hill, curve, or obstruction that restricts visibility.
HTA s.154.1 prohibits driving in a designated high-occupancy vehicle lane except in accordance with the regulations, which require the minimum number of occupants or authorized exemptions, and restrict entry or exit to designated areas only.
HTA s.79.1 makes it an offence to drive, carry, or possess in a motor vehicle on a highway any device for detecting or jamming police speed-measuring equipment, and authorizes police to stop, search, and seize such devices, which are forfeited to the Crown.
HTA s.78.1 makes it an offence for a driver to hold or use a hand-held wireless communication or electronic entertainment device while driving on a highway, allowing only hands-free or securely mounted operation, or use when lawfully parked or contacting emergency services.
HTA s.128(1) applies when a driver travels thirty to forty-nine kilometres per hour over the posted speed limit.
HTA s.158(1) prohibits following another vehicle more closely than is reasonable and prudent having regard to speed, traffic, and highway conditions.
HTA s.174 requires drivers of buses, school buses, or vehicles carrying passengers or dangerous goods to stop at unprotected railway crossings and proceed only when safe.
HTA s.130 defines careless driving as operating a vehicle without due care and attention or without reasonable consideration for other persons using the highway, with s.130(3) addressing bodily harm or death.
HTA s.172 makes it an offence to engage in a race, contest of speed, or similar competitive driving on a highway.
HTA s.128(1) and s.172 apply when a driver exceeds the posted limit by fifty kilometres per hour or more.
HTA s.175(11) requires drivers approaching or overtaking a stopped school bus with its red lights flashing to stop before reaching it and not proceed until the lights stop, except when on the opposite side of a divided highway under s.175(12).
HTA s.172 includes performing a stunt, which encompasses prescribed conduct such as deliberate loss of traction or wheel lifts.
HTA s.200 requires a driver involved in a collision to remain or promptly return, identify themselves, and render assistance or report as required.
HTA s.216(1) requires a driver, when signalled or requested by a readily identifiable police officer, to come to an immediate safe stop.
