If your licence is suspended you cannot drive anywhere. You are disqualified from driving. Should you get pulled over in the United States, the police will check your licence validity, and yes, they do have access to this information. When they see it is suspended, you will be charged. In many states, this results in you being arrested immediately, and you could go to jail. You can also have your vehicle seized in some states. MTO will also extend your licence suspension when they find out about it.

is my license valid just under suspension or am i disqualified from driving period?
The suspension means your license isn't valid. In fact, even when the suspension ends, the Ministry charges a reinstatement fee of $150 to reactivate your license. If you don't pay this fee, you'll still be be unlicensed. Slightly less serious then suspended, but still illegal to drive.
