Does The White Paper Count At The Ticket

Unread post by redsky »

The officer screwed up on the white peice of paper I received with the blue one, does that count as a fatal error? He meant to put of 5 but very clearly it shows a 3. He then adds a small mark but it still looks much more like a 3 .i asked several people and they all said it was a 3. I

The fine isn't much of an issue but as a male g2 driver in school the insurance increase would make like rather difficult.

Is that the SET FINE box or the TOTAL PAYABLE box?

Can you post the whole blue and white papers you got with personal info blacked out?

I would be interested in seeing a full scan as well, because whether this is a fatal error or not will depend on which piece of white paper you are talking about.

Judging from your picture it looks like the messy handwriting is on the payment notice sheet (the one you mail in with your ticket along with the payment). I'm not even sure why the officer bothered filling that out, I've never seen it done before. Regardless, it is NOT a fatal error. A fatal error would be an incorrect fine on the actual Offence Notice.

Yeah its the payment notice sheet I was unsure if it was considered part of the ticket. Everything on the actually ticket is in order unfortunately.

Can I request a trial and then plead guilty after i get disclosure without risking the fine being raised? The officer said he gave me a break and lowered it a tier.

I figure if I can squeeze another couple months of having reasonable insurance payments I might as well right.

You can go to court to see if the officer present on the day of your trial and if he is then simply leave before your trial starts and you will be convicted of whatever is on the ticket. If the officer is a no show there's a good chance the ticket will be withdrawn or the trial rescheduled. If the trial goes ahead the charge will likely be amended to 27 over.

Yes, plead not guilty and ask for trial with officer present.

Once you get notice of trial, request disclosure.

The only time they can raise the amount back up (amend the ticket) is if you actually start your trial. So as long as you leave before it starts they cannot change it.

Thank you, much appreciated! This is my first ticket and its been weighing on my mind more than I care to admit.

One final thing: I heard if you get a ticket with your g2 the insurance increase is greater. If I get my full G before the conviction, will my ticket count as g2 ticket (when it was issued) or as a G (when I was convicted).
