Plead To By-law

Unread post by fortec_man »

Anyone ever hear or have any experience getting an HTA speeding charge plead down to the relevant city bylaw? Not overly concerned with the fine or points, just don't want a conviction to affect insurance so I've been looking and found that Mississauga has a speeding offence in its traffic bylaw... "34(2) In accordance with the Highway Traffic Act, no person shall drive a motor vehicle on a municipal roadway at a rate of speed greater than 50 kilometres per hour unless otherwise indicated by an authorized sign."

Hoping that maybe the prosecutor will be willing to go this route.... any one ever hear of it?

Depends on the Prosecutor... it could work...
