I was driving on a Kings highway (posted 80 km) that is 2 lanes in each direction. Got passed by a car going much faster than me and then i see his brake lights kick up. I figure its a cop ahead and check my speed and I'm going 78. The cop goes by me in the other direction, pulls off the road and its about 20 seconds before trafffic clears in both directions for him to pull a U turn (I'm watching in my rear view). I figure he caught the guy ahead of me speeding but noooooo, he pulls up behind me and pulls me over. Gives me a ticket for going 106 in an 80 zone and starts lecturing me at the roadside. I wasn't going to plead with him as he looked pissed for some reason. Now I go to court to fight this. Make the mistake of representing myself, no experience with court. I never had a ticket in 34 years of driving until the last year in which I got one for 10 km over. The prosecutor questions the cop on the stand and asks..."did you at any time lose sight of the vehicle?" . The cop says "no". I get to cross examine and start to ask the cop how he pulled a U turn on a busy 4 lane highway, with both oncoming traffic and also cars going by him from behind (he pulled off on the shoulder to turn around) without losing sight of me...after all I was going about 80 km/hr in the opposite direction to him. The cop starts to stammer and say that he quickly looked back and forth between his rearview and the road and kept his eye on me...that he is trained to do this ..blah blah blah. I'm about to tell the judge that its impossible for the cop to pull a U turn without losing sight of me (he had to look at oncoming traffic)and the fact that the cop perjured himself in telling the prosecutor and the court he did not lose sight of me... and the judge starts to tell me to stick to the facts and that I was using improper procedure ect. Judge seemed quite pissed about me not paying a lawyer to stand by me. I was trying to establish some possible error on the cops part mixing me up with the other guy and the fact that he lost sight of me for a considerable time. Long story short, the judge deems me guilty sets payment for 30 days. Can I appeal this after i'm deamed guilty? Could any of the cops statements be brougt up in a new trial?

No ticket. My vehicle was in the right lane on a street with 2 lanes in the same direction. The right lane was obstructed due to snow and ice from the snow plow built up. Right lane is for straight through traffic, left lane ended in about 50m (to merge right). All straight through traffic was in…
Hello, im not sure if this is the proper section to post in, but the parking permits section is locked.
Well today i got charged with the above 2 charges and instead of receiving fines i have a summons to court. Can anyone tell me if its worse to get a summons to court than if i got fined?
I basically had a car crash. I'm a young driver under 21. I was driving from work. Had a cold, long shift, didn't eat too much (due to the cold), was working in a cold environment which didn't aid the cold. So I felt nausea while driving and felt like vomiting. My car started to slide to the left…
I just completed a 2 day road trip to Iowa. Travelled there for a friend to buy a used car. It was a long drive 9hrs each way.
The driving in Illinois (south end of Chicago) makes what I have seen of GTR drivers look like angels. Due to all the ramps, the speed is 45mph (80km ?) anyway, was…
So I was returning from my honeymoon in Montreal, and was cruising down the 401 just inside the Ontario/Quebec border. I was passing one of the Onroute stations and saw an OPP cruiser. I checked my speed and I was doing 120. A few kilometers up the road the cruiser pulled me over and told me I…
I have recently received a notice for licence cancellation under the "novice driver escalating sanctions act"
I received my license in July of 2012 and in that time I have unfortunately accumulated 4 tickets under the hwy traffic act: 2 speeding 0-15 km, failure to produce license, and a blood…
I was waiting at a light while it was red. I was in the left turning lane waiting for the light to turn green when the camera snapped a photo. I doubt I touched the line it was right before the light turned green. I don't believe my bumper was touching the white line or anything.. is this normal?…
60 km/h speed limit, day and night, marked/unmarked units, LIDAR. Usually 2 to 4 officers stationary manning a tripod, just west of Dowling, in front of the Boulevard Club. Toronto Police say that this is their most productive speed trap. Vehicles have been clocked in excess of 140 km/h here.
