“11b Is It Worth Trying?”

Last week I had a trial for my traffic ticket during which the court ran out of time and had to adjourn the trial to a later date. From the offence date to the new trial date it would be a little over 10 months. Should I go for an 11b? I am afraid of what if the JP would deny my request for stay saying that at least the trial had already begun; it's not their fault if the court had ran out of time and had to adjourn it. Would that be a valid reason for them to deny my 11b?
