Re: What shows up when police run your license plate?
Is there any way of knowing if there was a report made? Also, would that show up on any criminal or background checks?

Re: Driving While Suspended
A criminal record check will not show suspensions as it is a HTA offense so the officer inside will not know it was suspended. You were not set up you were just unlucky. ops I don't think that I would use the term "set up" but I can pretty much guarantee that it was related. The officer a...

What shows up when police run your license plate?
I asked this in another thread but figured maybe it would be best to make my own topic: Lets say you are caught with 2-3 roaches or grams of marijuana in your car and the cop tells you to stomp it out and gives you a verbal warning, is that on your record? I know someone who a while ago got caught w...

Re: Reported by Pedestrian With Failure To Stop
I don't think your friend counts as a witness since he was in your car. I know when it comes to an accident your passengers cannot be a witness so I can't see it being any different in this case. I can't believe that you could be given a ticket for a pedestrians word, this is the first I've heard of...

Is it illegal to turn into the further lane?
Hi everyone, A few questions here, sorry if this has already been covered but I couldn't find the answers in the search function. Option 1: I am turning left onto a two lane road in a one lane turn section, is it illegal to turn into the further lane? Option 2: I am turning left onto a two lane road...

Is it legal to carry a machete in your trunk?
Don't know if this is off topic but I was wondering if it is legal to carry a machete in your trunk. My friend surprised me with one for my birthday and I thought it would be a good idea to bring along since I have a cottage that is out of cell phone reception. I have slid into the ditch before on t...

Re: Cops and Traffic Stops
So to the guy who said "if you have nothing to hide then who cares" how would you have liked to have been in my situation? It was embarrassing and demeaning as hell. Cops are not God, this is not Soviet Russia and people have rights. and obviously we only heard your side of this...however...

Re: BF got DUI with a G2 License- Help!
If all he got was the pink Warn fine slip then the cop gave him a break and he will be fine after the 3 day suspension. Can you tell us exactly what tickets he received?

Re: Cops and Traffic Stops
This reminds me of two summers ago when my friend and I got pulled over late down town in Ottawa. My friend works as a server at a 24/7 restaurant and I was picking him up at about 12 A.M. I was not too familiar with down town so I turned into a dead end street, as I turned out I noticed there were ...

Re: 3 day license suspension
You got off lucky.... Look at my thread http://www.ontariohighwaytrafficact.com/topic4394.html Same thing happened to my friend, he was only given a pink slip which is an ADLS suspension. If you were not given the white ticket you were not given the charge and therefore got off very lucky. My friend...

Are you unable to renew the sticker until you have your fines paid off?

Re: Lights off While driving...
IMO option 3 would do nothing for you, you were driving with your lights off and that is that, there is no pleading not guilty.
If you really don't want to pay it you should go for option two and try to get it reduced, perhaps your clean record will help you a bit there.

Re: Parking lot accident - Not at fault but need advice
Is it illegal to not report a small collision to police/insurance and just go through an agreement with the two parties to pay the repairs themselves? If so what are the penalties?

Re: Cop did not give charge for BAC above zero "young driver
If your friend wasn't charged by the officer at the time of the incident, it's very unlikely anything further will come of it. Technically the police have up to six months from the date of the offence to proceed with a charge, but I don't see why they would at this point. Quite likely the officer w...

Cop did not give charge for BAC above zero "young driver"
Hello everyone, Recently three friends and I were coming back from a house party in which the driver had about 3 beers in about 2.5 hours. We were stopped by an officer and the driver agreed to take a breathalyser test. The driver has his full G class license and is 21 years old although he was born...
