You were doing Mach 350? How did the police ever catch you?

Re: Careless Driving Summons for Rear End Collision

Careless Driving is definitely an insurance premium destroyer. If you're with a standard insurance company you won't be on renewal as they won't renew (they might not anyway with two at fault accidents in the last 5 years) with that conviction on your record. This means you're off to the high risk m...

Re: Out of province suspension, Nova Scotian license

The jurisdiction that issues the license is the jurisdiction you need to deal with to get your license reinstated. I'm sure the letter you received informing you of the suspension should indicate who that is.

Re: Chances of fighting a HOV violation (154.1 (3))

HOV occupancy violations are minor convictions for insurance, however if you have other moving violations in the last three years or any at-fault accidents in the last six adding another moving violations, even a minor one, can be the straw that breaks the camel's back in terms of your insurer addin...

Re: MTO gave me the wrong sticker - place your bets!

I guess it would depend on what was registered on the MTO computers. If the agent gave you a 2020 sticker but entered into the system the expiry is 2019 then you would receive a renewal notice in 2019.

Re: Does an Ontario license suspended in quebec for unpaid fines affect driving in Ontario

Quebec has a reciprocal agreement with Ontario, so Quebec will provide Ontario with the conviction information and this will be recorded onto the Ontario driver’s licence record and the applicable demerit points will be applied. However Quebec does not have the authority to suspend a license it did ...

Re: Passenger Seat Belt Ticket - Insurance Rates Impact

I don't know if Desjardins has a conviction free discount so I can't say whether this ticket on your record will affect your premium. You do not have to inform the insurer of the conviction. Some insurers will pull your Moving Violations Record (MVR) before the renewal to confirm what's been going o...

Re: Passenger Seat Belt Ticket - Insurance Rates Impact

It will depend on: a) will this ticket go on your Moving Violations Record (I am assuming yes); b) which insurance company you are insured with; c) what your record was like before you obtained this ticket. Some insurance companies offer a conviction free discount so being convicted of this could ca...

Re: Summons issued 5 days after alleged offence? Is this legal?

Do you mean driving without a valid license (i.e. suspended license) or driving without having the physical license on their person (i.e. left it at home)? If it's the former if the officer knew the driver and knew their license was suspended (maybe from a previous interaction) then I would say no. ...

You might want to find a retired Ontario Superior or federal Supreme Court judge and consult them because, to me, all of your arguments presented are either irrelevant or are not subject to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Re: Exceeding speed limit by 36km/h in a 80km/h zone - Disclosure included

Without knowing who you are insured with and what your current driving record is like it is near impossible to say. Knowing who you are insured with is important because every company has different underwriting rules. 36 Km/H over is a minor moving violation, however with some insurance companies ha...

"1, call go to collision report center ?" She will have do this if she plans to make a claim under insurance, however with no plate number of the other vehicle there isn't much the police can do "2, call insurance ?" If your mom has Collision or All Perils coverage, and the damag...

Hi Everyone, It's been a while since I have been active on this post. Hoped I would never have to deal with this case again but I just got served with papers because the lady wants to sue me for personal injuries. I already contacted my insurance and sent them the papers. What I find weird is that ...
