Re: Unsafe lane change and destroyed evidence

Thank you for the pointers, everyone. Originally I've been charged with HTA 142 (1) Unsafe Lane Change. I've just met with the prosecutor today and they're willing to change to a lesser charge 142 (7) Improper Signal if I plead guilty. I think that's what I'm going to do instead of fighting the char...

Disclosure--need help interpreting officer's notes

I finally got the disclosure. My first attendance meeting will be next Wed, and just wondering if any of you good people can help deciphering the short forms on the officer's notes? RIC MVC Tire tracks on E/S (What is E/S?) N/B L2 R1 N/B L1 R1 (Have no idea what that means. have seen this all over t...

Questions about pre-trial meeting?

Wondering if anyone's familiar with Richmond Hill court procedures. I'm going to file a notice to appear in trial for my tickets and I have some questions: 1) They have the option to walk in and do a pre-trial meeting with the persecutors. What can I do there? Can I try to convince them to withdraw ...

Re: Failure to surrender G1

Only one collision. No worries, Ontario! I'm not that dangerous! So I'm pretty much screwed and not much chance at fighting that? The reason I didn't bring my G1 was I thought I could pass off as a tourist and carry around only my foreign DL and my international permit, and I can leave the country a...

Re: Unsafe lane change and destroyed evidence

Thanks for getting back to me. We moved the vehicles as we agreed with the first patrol officer. The other vehicle cannot be driven and needed to be towed. When the investigating officer came, he told us we shouldn't have moved and there's nothing for him to see now that we've been moved. So that's ...

Re: Change Lane - Not in Safety - Kitchener

I can answer your first question as I've just gone through the same thing and called up the court to ask. (1) You have to file your notice of intention to appear in court and get a court date first. After you get your trial date you can request for disclosure. Don't know the answer to the second que...

Normal for cop to offer a lesser charge?

I was involved in a collision a few days ago and the police officer determined that I was at fault. When talking to him in private, he said he needed to charge someone when there was a collision, but he was willing to work in my favour and "lie to give me a lesser charge". He offered to ti...

Unsafe lane change and destroyed evidence

Got ticketed for unsafe lane change! I was trying to make a lane change to my right. I signalled, did shoulder check, mirror check, when this car came behind me very fast out of nowhere. I saw it and I hit the brakes. I may have crossed the lane (I don't remember!) but I definitely didn't hit the ot...

Failure to surrender G1

I was involved in a collision the other day. I'm a new resident in Ontario, but only here for 54 days when the accident happened. I passed my G1 before the accident but I didn't have it on me. I did, though, have my international driving permit and my license from another country which are both vali...
