I bought a used 2014 Ford Explorer on Friday. When i picked it up i noticed it had commercial plates (Black on white) on it and that the sticker was on the back upper right where it would usually be with normal passenger plates.
The ownership lists COM as well.
My Questions:
Are these the right plates for this vehicle?
Shouldn't the sticker go up front?
Do i need anything noting that this is a passenger vehicle?
Thanks,

Speed trap on private property marked "no trespassing"
Last week I received a ticket from a speed trap just outside of Cambridge. The officer was parked in a private drive way that was marked with no trespassing signs. There was no shoulder on this stretch of road to pull over into so i was ushered into a merging lane from the drive way. My questions are 1. can he run a trap and issue tickets on private property without the owners consent? It was marked no trespassing. 2. Where he pulled me over was still on the road, in a lane. Can he do this? 3. If there is no shoulder would the property line come right to the road? Here is a google map of the l...

Re: Hit on 401 while changing lanes
1) If you're both in the process of changing lanes, it would likely be 50/50 fault. It would depend on what the police report says. 2) Again dependent on what determination the investigating officer makes. Change lane not in safety, 142(1) would be a possible charge. It carries a $110 fine and 2 points. But they could lay no charge, or something entirely different. 3) Odd and illegal. The Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act requires you share this info with other motorists if involved directly or indirectly in an accident. 4) You made a reasonable effort to obtain the info. Not your fault he ...

Hit on 401 while changing lanes
So i was travelling westbound on the 401 between Guelph and the highway 8 exit in Kitchener tonight. I was in the right lane travelling behind a slow truck that i wanted to get past. Traffic was heavy as it always is during rush hour. I saw a sizeable gap in traffic coming up in my rear view mirror so i began to pre pair for a lane change. I checked my mirrors, looked in my blind spot, signalled and began to enter the middle lane. I'd say i was 95%-100% in the middle lane when a car sped by straddling the left and middle lane(he was changing lanes into the middle lane as well). I did not see a...

Left turn through traffic & bike lane
I live in Guelph a very hippie and pro bike city, there is a bike lane on almost every major road. On my way to work this morning i was making a left hand turn across one lane of stopped traffic and a bike lane. The vehicle that stopped to let me turn was an Escalade so it was very large and I could not see around it to see if the bike lane was empty. To be cautions i turned slowly and just before the front of my car entered the bike lane a guy on a bike came out of nowhere. Because i was going slow i was able to stop before I entered and all I got was an overreaction from the biker. This got ...
