When I walk out to my car in the early morning (4:30) I actually look to see who is parked on the road before I get into my car.hwybear wrote: To get out of my driveway at night (we have street lights) I always put down my rear windows to clearly see, there is very minimal traffic, but I don't want to hit someone walking. 2 mornings ago backing out I wasbut there was a pickup parked at the curb (everyone parks in their driveway, so someone was visiting). With the "C" pillar and angles I would never have seen it.

but you stated you park perpendicular to the road when you are on duty. which means you would be looking through the windshield? So having a light tint on the side windows should have no bearing on anything. You should be able to see right through my untinted windshield if my sides are tinted. And if you have tint on your windows you should also know that it is much easier to see out that in especially on a black car. I know on my black car the tint looks much darker looking in than looking out. But I don't really care. If you can see me through my windshield that should be sufficient. If you ...

Tint law is in place for one main reasons that I can think of: 1) Driver has to be able to sufficiently see out (especially at night, have to be able to see the bicycle, pedestrian etc..) I have a problem with this statement. Just because you cannot see into my car does not mean I cannot see out. Does this mean my autodarkening mirror is illegal too? It gets darker at night when headlights shine on it. It makes it a little harder to see things without light. Also I find the statement offensive because it reminds me of the ostrich with his head in the ground. I can't see you, therefore you can...

I've always wondered... It's 3am and you get pulled over. Eventually you will be asked. Where are you going? and /or Where are you coming from? Well I'd like to know, what difference does it make? There is absolutely nothing I or anyone can say that is going to convince the cop to say "Right! off you go then!!, I'm so sorry for wasting your time" I refused to answer those questions once. I had been pulled over for a stupid reason, (black car black interior black jacket, and officer couldn't see my seatbelt.) I was wearing it and she new as soon as she walked up to the window. I gave ...

people on cell phones. Period.
Also I hate "cutters" as well. I see it everyday. Doesn't have to be in a construction zone, it happens everywhere. Why do we make highways with lanes that end? Why do people use them when they know the lane will end, and why do people let them in? I always make sure a "cutter' ends up behind me. I'm always hoping it will "teach then a lesson". But it never does. If you know the lane is going to end, move over and keep the flow going.

ok, I just figured out that it is section 74 part 1 part b. 74. (1) No person shall drive a motor vehicle upon a highway, (a) unless the windshield and the windows on either side of the compartment containing the steering wheel are in such a condition as to afford the driver a clear view to the front and side of the motor vehicle; and (b) unless the rear window is in such a condition as to afford the driver a clear view to the rear of the motor vehicle. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 74 (1) I have a clear view. How can an officer state I do not have a clear view if she has not been in the car? It say...

another errors on ticket question
I was on my way someplace last night after work. I was doing about 55 in a 50 zone because I just had a feeling... Well I go through an intersection on a green light, and I see a cop. I look down and confirm I am doing 50ish. I keep driving and looking in my rearview, I don't see anything. Then all of a sudden I see flashing light and I have to pull over. She tells me I was going pretty fast through a certain intersection. I tell her she must be mistaken because I checked my speed when I saw her and it was no more than 55. She asks for my ID and I give it to her. I also mention that I want to ...

Charter of rights violated?
Long story short. Got a speeding ticket last July 07 and asked for disclosure. It never came. Went to court In january and explained this but I had no proof. So an adjournment was granted to May 30 to obtain disclosure. Received a notice in the mail that officer will be on vacation that week. Show up today in court or
a new trial will be set and we won't tell you about it. I showed up and its adjourned to Aug 22 08. I want to exercise my right to a speedy trial. Anyone know the method for doing this?

I don't remember the actual speed he clocked me at but it was a little more than 65. I actually plan on using a mini dvd camcorder so I could just bring my cables and make sure that a tv is available. I haven't received disclosure yet. I think that is BS on the cop's part assuming that it is 50kph in a residential zone. In Hamilton when you enter the city it isn't posted that all streets are 50 unless otherwise posted. Most cities/townships have the big signs stating that when you enter on the city on the main roads. I have come into Hamilton on many different roads from elsewhere and have nev...

Speed limit posting
Are there any rules to govern how a city/province posts speed limits? In some places when the limit changes there will be a sign warning that the limit will change ahead, then there will be a sign stating new speed limit begins. Does it contravene the Highway traffic act if a speed limit is not posted or improperly posted? I was charged with doing 65 in a 50 zone, but I can prove that the road is improperly marked. The limit is 60 at one point, and there are no signs stating it will drop to 50 ahead, nor is there a sign stating 50 begins. There are no signs on the road in the direction I was t...
