Are any tests done for lidar?
Do you guys test on a regular basis?
Like have 2-3 officers drive by in marked cars and test various devices to see if they all get same speed and if that matches the car?
But then what ensures the speed in the police inte…
Only 14 over though no demerit points.
Quite right nice officer indeed.
Although for insurance purposes all moving infractions do add up.
I would say its your choice to take it to court and depends on how your insurer will treat it.
Wow 8-10 minutes.
What do you do if your following the guys exit comes up?
Would you get off and follow him to his house if it was close?
Wondering cause usually OPP HSD does 400 series highways so if you follow for a few mins calling the plates in, et…
Just another thing i noticed today or another reason to hate on these lanes.
people sit in them and then realize the line is solid so they are not allowed to get over for their exit.
So the result if they often cut over going slower then the passing lan…
Wow 12 hour shifts! Patience must be thin.
Let's say on a night shift would you actually be on the road the whole time since no court or nothing else to do?
I think R.I will make his next trip in that way around a Tuesday around 9-5 possibly
Very in…
Wow Squishy thats almost 175 km/hr. I have seen fast flows of traffic in Ontario but never anything like that, although i have heard stories of that happening in a few places like the QEW near the skyway, and the 401 out around Belleville, Kingston area, …
Yep squishy new york state is funny.
When you drive there you look around and wonder why they all drive the speed limit, then youll go in the left lane to pass them, look behind some guy flashing their lights and guess what!!! They're from Ontario to.
B…
Agree with you on that squishy. This happens alot.
You get all the trucks in the right lane stuck at 100, or those who drive really slow. So then the capped trucks go into the middle lane trying to pass at like 3 km/hr faster.
Or all the people who hate…
Sorry just looked at intersection on google unlikely,
Were you entering the highway when this happened and got into the right lane to early while it was still solid?
Squishy wrote:From the way I interpret it, she drove onto the paved shoulder before the start of the off-ramp, entered the off-ramp, noticed the officer, and merged back onto the highway for the "move over" law (which, by the way, does not apply…
PS was out tonight your right about the Spectre, saw 2 of them parked for a break. Both did not have the Spectre RDD.
You were also telling me that not all the cars have a built in radar unit.
I don't know how you guys would do it. But lets say in the G…
Makes alot of sense. Plus why order cars for highway patrol with alloys that would certainly cost alot more and would be hard to justify buying them with citizens tax dollars.
Maybee wrong thread.
On a cop car on the back you sometimes will see 2-3 of …
I remember R.I tellin me that detachment at Chatam makes the Ohio Highway Patrol look like boy Scout's!
Man bear you guys must have so much fun at work
5 chase cars at one lidar trap crazy!
P.S i never asked you before. Whats your favorite vehicle to…
Sorry just for those unaware of the term HOV.
HOV = High Occupancy Vehicle Lane
Basically they are lanes on the left side of the highway (even left of the passing lane) Usually a 4th lane added for vehicles carrying more than 1 passenger and have restri…
HOV Lanes Just wondering what you guys think of those HOV lanes.
Sure these lanes are faster then usual but i think they present a ton of problems, now the first thing i want to clear up is often we say speed is dangerous. Okay i can believe that depending on the …
Well bear just so you know i would never really "FLY BY"in that area you patrol.
A good speed there is about 114.4 km/h You know just so the radar wont round it up
You know though sometimes if i see an officer parked on the side of the road…
Can you add into this thread the spectre R.D.D.
I wonder how much they cost.
Am i wrong in thinking that all officers would have a radar unit, hand held radar, Laser, and a spectre RDD with them in every car.
Although i have heard the laser speed guns …
Hey R.I i heard if you want to attract some bears you should put a big thing of Honey on the hood of your car and or a massive be hive on your roof as you go through "bear country."
Either that or bring out the Fuzz Buster 2000 west of London …
bear remember in the other thread with the hand held K band VP directional, you told me that what i had suggested would not hold up in court because the gun has a mode to select direction (device can tell or only read cars going away, or coming towards it…
Oh ya that 07 civic with the pilot from Michigan.
Isn't he also the one that carries all the doughnuts in his car from Essex to London on the 401???
I bet bear is going to go on a blitz for stopping civic's on the 401 in an attempt to find R.I and im…
