Re: Improper left turn?
Sorry friend you don't have may options other than to go to court and dispute the charge. I would hire a paralegal to try and get it dismissed because novice+ticket+at fault accident = bus. This is why you should never give up right of way. The other driver might have thought they were doing you a f...

Re: Unpaid speeding ticket in Iowa - consequences?
I would pay the ticket and move on. Keep in mind that the law and they type of information that is in databases can and will change over time. Who is to say that one day an immigration officer doesn't see that and use it as a reason for being inadmissible or that a cooperation agreement is enacted b...

If I am understanding you correctly, you passed someone from the right and crossed a solid white line separating the 2 lanes while travelling at 140 kph? I don't think careless is an unreasonable charge. Your driving does not need to result in an accident in order to support a conviction, and saying...

The officer's notes are there to refresh the officers memory for when they give evidence to the court. If the officer says something in their testimony that you know to be untrue, make sure you ask them if they are absolutely sure about that, you can then introduce your own evidence that proves thei...

What seems to be happening now is that cash-strapped municipalities who administer the courts are going after unpaid fines and asking the MTO to suspend licences of people who owe money for HTA infractions. An administrative suspension for nonpayment of a fine is treated differently than a suspensio...

Re: how to fight erroneous red light camera ticket or to get additional disclosure
Unless you have a green arrow then you are required to stop at the red light marker then proceed to make your right turn.
If you request a trial they will have a huge picture for you to examine if you meet with the prosecutor before the trial.

Review all the evidence in the disclosure before finalizing your defence. Post it here if you want us to review it. If you did not commit any offence then you are going to have to go to trial and testify to that. It would be helpful if you could testify that you NEVER have your phone in your hand wh...

If you truly feel then the officer is mistaken because the phone is ALWAYS mounted and NEVER used in a non-hands free capacity, then I would proceed to trial (never lie in court). However if you know that you periodically hold your phone in your hands (even without using it) while not legally parked...

Re: Requesting a STAY on my trial under section 7 - last minute disclosure received
Ask for a stay, if the JP refuses then ask for more time so that you can prepare your defense because the prosecutor took so long to provide disclosure. With any luck that will put you into 11b territory.

Re: Commercial vehicles and a Licence
As long as the actual weight, GVW (manufacturers sticker on inside of the door panel) and the GVRW (weight registered on the plate portion of the ownership) you can drive it with a G with up to about 24000 lbs. Note your vehicle will be considered a commercial vehicle and you will still be responsib...

Re: Stunt Driving - Perform stunt- cause tires to lose traction
I believe that to support a conviction the prosecution has to establish intent, and that is hard to do based on a 2 second observation. Having traction control may also aid your case. Hopefully you have photos of the salt or sand. All that being said the consequences of being convicted are very hars...

Re: Two tickets one not signed picture attached
I believe that the one that is not signed is a fatal error. There are a few ways you can go about this but I would be inclined to fight the plate ticket but let the speeding ticket go into the default judgement process where it should be quashed. You could also challenge both tickets and deal with t...
