34KM over the speed limit

Hi everyone, I got pulled over and got a ticket for 34 over. I reviewed the ticket and there appears to be no fatal errors on the ticket at all. I was hoping if any individuals could help me develop a strategy for defense for this matter. Particularly, could anyone provide insight as to how I can determine whether or not the cop used a lidar or radar and whether it was tested appropriately. I'm also interested in finding out whether or not the radar was serviced on the appropriate intervals. I got the ticket today and i'm going to request for disclosure once I file for not guilty. I only have ...

Re: Received ticket for doing 105 in 100 with incorrect fine

Hi, I received a speeding ticket last night from the OPP (stationary OPP 4x4 on side of highway using radar) where I was clocked @ 134kph. The ticket indicates that I was going 105 in 100kph zone (cop meant to drop to 15 over; not 5 over), but the fine indicated on ticket is for 15kph over. The ticket does indicate that the ticket was reduced from 134. So he question is... Is the fact that the speed over and associated fine not matching be enough to void the ticket? If I fight it, will/can they go after me for the original 134kph? Any advice would be appreciated!! Thanks! Post a picture of a ...

Re: Driving non-designated vehicle in designated lane

The warning will NOT affect your insurance at all. But as a side note, the sticker is NOT required to be on the back of your ownership, only on the plate itself. Many police officers do not know this for some reason, but if you did get a ticket for no sticker on ownership, then it is an easy one to beat. As far as bylaw offences go, some municipalities report them to MTO and some do not. If they do report it to MTO then it will show up on your record and will affect your insurance (although probably minimally). Hi Jsherk! Thank you for your help. I have a couple of other questions. Would I be...

Driving non-designated vehicle in designated lane

Hi Everyone! I was hoping if I could get some insight from you guys. I was driving to work a new clients facility today early in the morning. I usually do not drive in Toronto as I'm from the west end of oakville and I was in what the officer pointed out to me as a HOV lane on city streets. He advised that I was going to be charged with 3 demerits points and a huge fine. I provided him my license, registration and insurance. I was driving my father's new car and he advised that I didn't have a sticker on the back of my plate ownership. However, the sticker on the plate was valid. What I believ...

Re: Improper Mudguards?

I wouldnt mind taking a plea such as drop the charge to a parking ticket of a similar amount or even more. I just do not want this to go against my driving abstract because this is entirely bs. It was a clear sunny day no rain no wet roads nothing. I took screenshots of the weather for that day that can justify that it indeed was a clean day. The officers dash cam video from his car can do the same.

Re: Improper Mudguards?

It was a sunny day, clear skies, on a clean paved road with no spray what so ever. We saw each other turn on to the road and i was driving extremely cautiously maintaining a distance and I was pulled over for solely the mudguards. The car is factory stock and I am in the process of getting a letter from Mercedes Benz Canada saying the car is factory stock and under professional opinion the bumper provides adequate reduction. The car also sits fairly low to the ground and it sits exactly at its legal requirement. I am going to try to go for an early resolution and see how the prosecutor reacts....

Re: Improper Mudguards?

Yes Sir! I will plead not guilty and request early resolution and go to trial if need be. I have posted in a mercedes benz group with over 1600 members where i received a lot of support and provided the ticket, photos of my car, and members who own tireshops and ex cops have reached out to me saying this ticket should not stand. The car is entirely stock and is a 2013 C63 AMG with performance package plus with winter tires on. I was en route to get my summers put on when I got this ticket. The supervisor of his division advised me that this ticket was a chincy one that he personally would not ...

Improper Mudguards?

Good evening everyone, I need some help here. So today I was on my way to get my tires changed from my winter tires to my regular summer staggered set of tires. I was driving in mississauga on my way to my destination, I got pulled over by an officer where I was given a ticket for having improper mudguards. For some context, I drive a stock 2013 C63 AMG with winter tires at the time. I was never made aware by my dealership that I require mudguards and I have spoken to the division's supervisor who said this ticket was a "chincy ticket" which he personally would not give himself. I di...

Re: Anything I can do? *have dashcam* *rear end collision*

A similar scenario happened to a year ago as a passenger in my friends car. Same thing, he ended up hitting the car and luckily, we had a witness who saw the entire event and testified. That was the way we got away from the charge. It all depends on what can be seen in the video and can't really give you an opinion without it.

General Question Regarding a Ticket

Hey Guys, On April 24, 2013 I received a ticket for speeding excessively which had the wrong date on it. I chose not to do anything and later received a letter in the mail saying the court refused to accept my ticket. Till this date the officer has not reissued the ticket so im assuming its never going to haunt me now at least. My question is when I was pulled over, the officer asked if I had any prior offences which I didn't. Since I was never convicted of this ticket, if an officer were to pull me over in the future and ask the same question, Would I be obliged to say yes but not convicted o...

74 in a 40 zone question!

On April 24, I was given a ticket by CP police (surprisingly) for going 74 in a 40 zone. I was driving my parents S550 and the digitial said I was going 60. When the officer pulled me over, I complied as I quickly realized there was no point in lying. I decided to stay quiet and proceded to allow the officer to do what was necessary and asked to not answer any questions. The officer gave me a reduced ticket to a 50 in a 40 zone based on cooperation and afterwards warned me if I fought it in court, They would pursue the full charge for 74 in a 40. However, he recorded the wrong year and wrote 2...

Re: Speeding ticket

What do you mean whether the ticket has been invalidated or not after 7 days? How do I check that?
