Oh and one other thing, when they mailed me my original trial date they sent the letter to the wrong address!!! My neighbor happened to know me and be home and passed it on to me.
I may not have even known when my trial date was going to be!

Quite likely the best plea bargain you will get is reduction in the fine to half; your insurance and demerits still get dinged. Not at all worth it, imo. Fight the charge. Read the regulations. Use multiple arguements. Request disclosure if you haven't already. If you prepare a good 4F application,...

Wasn't sure if I had a case or not but I'll definitely file a stay regardless. Worst that can happen is they say no. Well the thing is I'm toying with the idea of doing a plea bargain because I have a feeling bilingual defence isn't going to work. Can I try to do the stay and then ask to speak to t...

Sure you do. Goto http://www.ticketcombat.com to find out more. You will need file form 4F. Should be a slam dunk, 16 months for a disobey sign. Re: Scary Situation
A few days back, on patrol, I stopped a car going the other way for his dark window tint. I couldn't see in and we all know this is rather common. My spider sense was tingling and there was radio traffic, so rather than book off, I immediately went to driver's window. The driver was hunched over th...

Need Advice on Charter Rights - Should I file for a stay?
Back in May 2009 I got a ticket (disobey sign) which carries a $110 fine and 2 demerit points. My court date was scheduled for March 2010 10 months after getting the ticket. I decided to fight the case using bilingual defence. Upon appearing in court they settled all the plea bargains first and ther...

I got the exact same ticket at the exact same spot this morning. I'm wondering how it turned out for you. Did you fight the charge? Did you win? Would really appreciate it if you could provide me with some details on what went on. Thanks. I showed up for court, they went through the docket and didn...

Does anyone think that this process is abusive? You clearly speak English as you've noted by your near flawless command of the language...so you would have understood the sign and for some other reason didn't obey it. Isn't that the real issue here? What would you say if a fluently English person d...

Oh noes, I wish I had known this earlier. I had court yesterday and indicated to the justice I was going to use bilingual defence. The prosecution said this wasn't fair as she had not been provided with the sections of the hiway traffic act I would be quoting. It was close to 4:30 so the justice did...

Left Turn (Bathurst & Eglinton)
On my way to work today I got a 110 dollar ticket + 2 demerit points. I was driving north on Bathurst and turned left onto a side street into a residential area before hitting the lights at Eglinton and Bathurst. I normally do this to avoid the big line up to turn left onto Eglinton. I've been doing...
