Re: Stunt driving ?? - 135 in 80 zone
It is a common belief by locals that the word "Caledon" is the aboriginal word for "Speed Trap". If you don't see a police car hiding on the right side behind the big pile of dirt as you come off the 410 onto Highway 10 north it simply means he/she is further up north on Highway ...

Re: WIN speeding 26 over
I will take a win anyway I can!!! Yah, but for a split second weren't you disappointed that you didn't get to argue your case? I had something similar happen and I was so pumped up and ready to present that it was almost a let down when the JP said I could go. Emphasis on the word "Almost"...

Re: OPP dropped radar tests, now it is in the news
To anyone familiar with the design and operation of electronic measuring equipment the situation involving radar gun testing in Ontario has always been a joke. Any device like this requires an external test against a standard to verify accuracy. A simple internal device test can verify the electroni...

Re: Charter violations by the Ontario government
What I don't understand after having read the document is how you get a "fair and public hearing, by an independent and impartial tribunal". How do you get a "public" hearing online? Why wouldn't you get a fair hearing? Your getting access to "unbiased expert decision-maker...

Who in their right mind allowed the sort of legislation to go ahead and pass these very, very stupid laws ... ... My Dear wife (Canadian) was on the subway the other morning and sat next to a black American about the same age as me (old). He was from Brooklyn New York. He struck up a conversation w...

Re: Improper Licence-dirtbike?
insurance specifically for your bike (which is needed anyways, even for off road) bend If you are driving your own dirt bike on your own property, do you actually need insurance? It seems that neither of the two sections below apply. Is this correct? Production of evidence of insurance (3) Every dr...

Re: [URGENT/SERIOUS] Goin 185 KM/H on Highway (100 Limit)
Among other things, the mechanical worthiness of the vehicle and the driver skill, experience and state of mind are, again IMHO, relevant to the discussion. I know of someone that a number of years back (pre "50km/h over = stunt" legislation) was charged with dangerous and careless drivin...

Re: [URGENT/SERIOUS] Goin 185 KM/H on Highway (100 Limit)
I believe an elite driver is 'entitled' to elite driving privileges. I'm sure you do. However, I and a lot of others are thankful that the law doesn't agree with you. The difference between the race track and the public highway is that on the racetrack all the drivers have accepted the potential ri...

Re: [URGENT/SERIOUS] Goin 185 KM/H on Highway (100 Limit)
Unless you're the Judge at his trial, nobody cares whether *you* think he should be driving. Actually I care too, especially if either of you are going to be anywhere near where I will be driving. I think you will find that the others using that road care as well. You were careful to make sure the ...

but your not allowed to pass from the right. I thought it was OK to pass on the right under certain situations. Passing to right of vehicle 150. Calculating the Fine
I'm sorry if this information is already been posted, but I have searched and have not been able to find it or what I have found seems to be old information. My understanding that the fine for this range is the number of kilometers over the limit x $4.50 but what else is added to get from the "...

Re: New options on back of tickets
from my experience through 11b pre-trial motion, was that neither the date you were charged nor the early resolution meeting was when the clock starts the JP at my trial ruled it's the day you filed your tickets at the sardine office, and expressed your intent to fight the charges In the past thoug...

Re: New options on back of tickets
If you choose Option 2 now and then decide to go to trial after speaking with the prosecutor, does this mean the clock for an 11B filing would start from the day you have your early resolution meeting instead of from when you were actually charged?
