"Only radar we have used since 1999.

Last few years has been the Decatur Genesis II Select Directional VIP, or handheld Decatur Genesis II Directional VP"

can you explain the difference between the two? and wether or not Decatur genesis VIP II exist?

Decatur Genesis II Select Directional is a moving radar unit which can also be used stationary. In stationary mode one can select specific direction of targets.

Decatur Genesis II Directional VP is strictly a handheld (stationary) unit which can also select specific direction of targets.

VIP (vehicle interface portal) is a feature that constantly correlates the patrol speed on the radar to the speedometer, which always ensures the patrol speed is accurate. This prevents batching and harmonic errors, plus also allows the radar to be operated in adverse weather conditions as the patrol speed can still be obtained. VIP is only used on the moving radar such as the Decatur Genesis II Select and Decatur Genesis II Select Directional
