20 Over, Reduced To 15 Over. Received Req For Adjournment

Hi all,

I received a ticket back in November for 15 over that was reduced at the roadside by the officer from 20 over.

She was polite, and courteous during the stop, however I always feel its worth trying to see if I can gamble and have the officer not show despite it being a relatively menial ticket to fight.

I received in the mail a Request for Adjournment for the court date due to "Officer on annual leave" and I need to show up on April 10th to argue against the adjournment for the court date in May. (If I oppose)

Is this something that can play in my favor or is it likely to have no effect in the outcome of whether the officer shows up or not?

Thanks in advance.

You can have the JP charge the delay to the Prosecutor... but in the case of a November to May timeline, that's not going to be enough for an 11B.

Besides... the cop reduced it to 15 over. You are aware that they can raise it back to the original speed at trial, correct?
