Speeding - 117km/h In 80 Zone

I was just fined for speeding 117km/h in an 80 zone. The officer did not reduce the charge at all.

I have been reading this sight and everyone is saying to fight it. My concern is that I really don't have an excuse for the speeding and it appears that the ticket was correctly filled out.

I have never been to court and don't know how I could plead not guilty when I don't have an excuse. I don't even care that much about the points I am more concerned about the money. Do you always meet with a prosecuter before the trial? Can you plead guilty in the trial and still ask for a reduced fine?

Thoughts and opinions would be appreciated!

You can always bargain with the prosecutor. Chances are your ticket will be dropped to 15 over, which is no points. Your insurance might go up a little, or it might stay the same. You will also get a rather small fine.

In the meantime, file for disclosure once you receive a court date.

Also, you may want to check out using a professional representation as well.

Speeding is admittedly the hardest one to beat.
