Rear End Collision

I was part of a 4 car accident scene, that was treated as two separate collisions.

Car #1 was going through the intersection

Car #2 at the opposite end attempted to make a left, and collided with Car #1

Car #3 entered the intersection, the 1st collision occurred and Car #3 came to a sudden stop in the middle of the intersection

Car #4 (me) was entering the intersection, the collision occurred, then rear ended Car #3

the speed limit on the road was 80 km/h which I was doing, I slammed on the brakes when I saw Car #3 stop but I couldn't stop in time and collided with it.

the police officer issued me a Careless Driving ticket because I was at fault, he assured me that I should be able to get it reduced to Following Too Closely if I plea Not Guilty . I have no idea what to do and am scared out of my mind.

Step 1 would be to put the paperwork in to plead not guilty. It's actually not that hard to get started. That at least gives you the option of pleading guilty to a lesser charge, such as following too closely, or fail to turn to avoid collision.

This is one of the hardest charges for the Crown to prove. However, careless driving is one of the more serious Highway Traffic Act offences, so I'd personally suggest a paralegal. To get started there, you can fill out the form at the bottom of the page for a no-obligation quote.

Careless Driving is used as a default charge way too often. In this particular case you may have several issues to be argued.
