I Think I Drove By A Stopped School Bus
Hello,
I think I just passed a stopped bus. I was driving along a median and I wasn't sure it ended or not due to the snow and I kept going. The bus was on the opposite side of the median. I didn't see the red lights, maybe they were yellow. I cars behind me stopped for sure. I admit I was likely in the wrong here.
I've read through some examples here. So, I wasn't driving my own car. I'm a secondary driver on my mother's car. I am on the insurance.
I just need some questions/answers clarified.
1. Since I wasn't pulled over by anyone, the odds of this becoming a charge against the driver is extremely small? Its a charge against the owner of the vehicle? And thus won't affect demerit points, because they don't know who was driving? Or would it affect the demerit points of the owner of the vehicle?
2. If its a charge against the owner of the vehicle, does it affect their insurance?
3. If I do get ticketed, will a police officer come to my door or will it just be mailed to me? And if its mailed, do they provide any background proof of what I did? I know some buses have cameras and some don't.
4. Are they slow to process something like this?
