Tipped Over A Bike

Hello,

I wonder if anyone has ever been in a similar scenario:

I approached my parallel parked vehicle on a rainy night and did observe any vehicles behind it.

I sat down, checked my mirrors, which did not show any obstacles and reversed slowly. I felt a slight nudge and stopped the car.

I exited and noticed that there was a motorcycle parked behind me in such an angle and height that made it impossible to see when approaching my car from the front side and the mirrors.

I picked up the bike and didn't observe any damage. I then drove away.

I recently received a letter stating my plate is being investigated in the collision.

If there was indeed damage, then technically this is failure to remain, no?

I'm quite worried that I'll get criminal charges and I'm wondering if it's possible at this point to resolve the matter with the other party directly.

I have yet to speak to the officer who sent me the letter, but was advised by a paralegal to not make any statements unless the officer explicitly states he is not planning to file any charges.

Does anyone have any input on this?

Thanks

Just got a call back from the Constable, he is not filing any charges and just wants me to file a report and will allow me to resolve this matter directly with the other party.
