I was wondering if anyone knows which roads the OHTA applies to and if it includes federal properties such as the National Capital Commission (NCC) parkways in Ottawa. The reason I ask is because the NCC has an act, the NCC Traffic and Properties Act, which applies to its roads already. Therefore, does the Ontario Highway Traffic Act apply?
Thanking you in advance,
Paul

I would say YES they apply. I do not the area, so hence the guess.
Similiar places...I have worked on
Military Base - HTA applies, federal acts also apply
Provincial Parks - HTA and Provincial Parks Act apply

Lived in Ottawa for 25 years... might be able to answer this one...
The NCC Traffic and Properties Act is "sort of" a set of bylaws for NCC property. Municipalities (Ottawa, Toronto, etc) also have bylaws that work with the Highway Traffic Act, such as Ottawa having municipal by-law infractions for "disobey official sign," etc. NCC has the same idea, just different title.
