Multiple Adjournments - Told To Ask For Case To Be Thrown

Hi Guys,

I have been battling with a ticket since summer 2008. Every time I go to court they reschedule my case for one reason or another. The last time I was there, the police officer who originally gave me the ticket told me that I should ask for the case to be thrown out because the crown keeps asking to reschedule (for various reasons). So when I came up before the judge to figure out a new date, I told her that this is what the officer told me and she said that he may be right and that I need to ask someone with knowledge on the subject to fill out the "appropriate" paperwork.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

You are looking for file form 4F, which has to do with your right to a speedy trial. Check out http://www.ticketcombat.com for further details. You could do this yourself and save some bucks.

reflections, thanks a lot.

Any specific tips regarding the situation. I know that normally people try to submit this form of "Constitutional Question" in a variety of long time between trial and offense, events, no disclosure etc...

In my case they have rescheduled on me 3 times. Any specific info. A copy & paste maybe? Probably pushing it :-)

Also, any other charter rights of mine being violated except the one to a speedy trial? i.e. is there another right that guarantees that they don't keep rescheduling on you?
