Hello all,

2 days ago I had open alcohol in my friends car(I wasn't driving), what I want to know is does this effect my insurance rate? They wrote down my drivers licence number and fined me 125$

Looks like this

Except mine says contrary to : NCCTPR

Where were you charged and by who? I'm trying to figure out what the NCCTPR is. Typically the Liquor Licence Act covers open alcohol in motor vehicles.

Regardless, a non traffic offence shouldn't have any impact on your insurance and shouldn't appear on your driving abstract.

Was this on federal land in Ottawa? NCCTPR = National Capital Commission Traffic and Property Regulations.

Only reference to liquor I can find is section 36.

36. No person shall have liquor in his possession on or in the property of the Commission other than in accordance with the laws of the province in which the Commission property is situated.
