Question About Court Trial

Hi,

Last week I was pulled over and ticketed for speeding of 15km (reduced from 23km) over limit in Toronto. I don't mind paying the $50 fine and forgetting it, but I need to buy some time, because I am talking with a new insurance company about my next term of auto insurance and it is almost done. I got this ticket after I presented a clean driving record, so I don't want this ticket messing everything up.

I am considering choosing trial option and setting a trial date first, then plead guilty and pay the fine before the trial date without appearing in the court. I wonder if I am allowed to do this and if there is any extra charge. The court is 137 Edward Street.

Any idea is highly appreciated.

You can plead guilty at any point by paying the fine.
