How To Find Old Case Laws

Hello all,

I am preparing my defence against a 15 over speeding charge. I'm in the process of looking for some case laws to support my defence, specifically whether the police officer followed proper procedure to test the laser unit. I read a lot of reference to R v Niewiadomski [2004] OJ No 478 and wanted to dig that up, yet I am not able to find it on the canlii website.

1) Is there any way to dig old case laws up? I have seen cases that considered case laws from the 90's, yet I don't know how to find those.

2) Can I simply refer to a case that gives out judgment considering another case law (which supports my case obviously)?

Thanks in advance for assistance.

Probably the best free public database would be CanLII (http://www.canlii.org/en/).

It doesn't have all published decisions, but does seem to have a lot of the more major ones.

Edit: Oops, sorry, missed that you already tried that database.
