Going 77km/hr In A 50km/hr
So I was driving and got pulled over for going 77km/hr in a 50km/hr zone. The officer then reduced the speed to 65km/hr in a 50km/hr zone. Now I am going to go to court to fight it because I really do not want my insurance to go up (I might even hire a lawyer to help). Now my question is, in court will the officer be able to show the radar since he reduced the speed or will I get fined more if he shows it and it shows I was really going 27km/hr over?
Thanks.
Re: Going 77km/hr In A 50km/hr
At trial the charge will be amended up the original speed documented in the officer's notes. It is important not to go to trial unless you have a very good prospect of beating the charge. You will not know where you stand until you file for a trial and request/review disclosure.

If you go to trial, the prosecutor will amend the ticket back to the original speed of 77 in a 50.
Hopefully you chose NOT GUILTY and asked for a TRIAL with OFFICER PRESENT. Once you get your trial date, you can request disclosure. Once you get disclosure you can decide further what you want to do.
