Carrying Insurance, Registration

I've been combing through the Highway Traffic Act. Naturally, the path of least resistance is carrying and presenting insurance and registration. However, looking over the Act, I can only find one clause requiring commercial drivers to carry proof of insurance and I can find no mention of registration or proof of ownership. What requires drives to carry these documents and present them on request?

The vehicle's registration is referred to as a permit in the Highway Traffic Act. You will find the requirement to carry the permit and present it to a police officer on demand in section 7 (5) A and B. http://www.ontario.ca/laws/statute/90h08#BK13
The requirement to carry and present proof of insurance is covered under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act under section 3 (1) A and B. https://www.canlii.org/en/on/laws/stat/ ... c-c25.html
