No Right Turn On Red Except On Green Arrow

Hi,

Received ticket for Proceed contrary to sign at Intersection HTA 144(9).

The signs contained the "No right turn on red light symbols" followed with "except on green arrow' in text.

What sign regulation covers this "except on green arrow" as I was not able to find it under Regulation 615 on CanLII ?

What regulation covers the placement of signs on the roadway?

Thanks.

Ont Reg 615 sect 21 (3) is the sign itself.

The "except on green arrow" is just an excemption to the sign.

At all other times, the sign prohibits a vehicle from making a right hand turn when there is a red light.

hwybear, thanks for the response however my question remains unanswered.

The "except on green arrow" appears not to be governed under Regulation 615. Is it covered in any regulation ?

It is covered by HTA 144(14), "Every driver approaching a traffic control signal showing one or more green arrow indications only or in combination with a circular red or circular amber indication and facing the indication may proceed only to follow the direction shown by the arrow. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 144 (14)."

Even without the text, you would be allowed to turn right on red as you now face a green indication. The text is just there as a reminder.
