Driving Under Suspension

I was pulled over for my passenger not wearing his seatbelt correctly. Turns out during this process I had a suspended license for an unpaid 100 dollar sticker fine. I was not aware of the suspension and now have to got to traffic court. Anyone have any clue to what penalty will come?

1st offence penalty min $1000 up to $5000 and further suspension of 6 months
you can go to any court and find out what your current outstanding fine is

Ive paid the fine online. Now I'm reading that they can add jail time. Is this common practice?

Jail time is not too likely in your case. Show the Prosecutor that you have paid your outstanding $100 sticker fine, paid the licence reinstatement fee, and that you made a mistake and were not aware. In that case, they'll probably reduce it to "Drive with No Licence," which dramatically lowers your fine.
