Hey,
Do red light cameras in Toronto (Or other parts of Ontario) only monitor one direction of an intersection? Are they only used to capture the rear of cars or do they capture oncoming traffic as well?
Thanks

Well, I looked at street view images of intersections with cameras (and a few that used to have cameras) and the only part of the intersection with the tell tale pattern of an induction loop sensor is directly in front of the camera where it would only activate and get the rear of the car
I guess they used traffic data to determine which directions were more hazardous than others

You're correct. The cameras only photograph the back plate of vehicles when they pass.
