Re: new car impound law

Thats an interesting answer. I remember taking a test that assessed my competency on the roads, I am not sure what planet I must have been on at the time ;-) I tend to base my personal beliefs on facts. Canadian licences can be utilised on roads the world over as can licences from other countries. I...

Re: Poor Quality Disclosure - what next??

They wont listen to you on a speeding ticket, they want the money. Best thing to do is point out you have very little disposable income and you need your car for work or whatever. Get that fine down as far as possible by pleading poverty if neccesary and if that is close to the truth.

Re: Nobody likes it when police focus on quotas. So why do t

hi Simon, You would sue the police as you would sue anyone who abused you. Insofar as a traffic ticket, should an officer say assault you or cause you loss or injury at that time or threaten you or cause you distress etc you would have grounds to sue. I suspect many unjustified traffic tickets are g...

Re: new car impound law

Its not a form of enslavement or anything. If you want access to the road you need a Licence! If you want to drive a car around you gotta get plates! Not a huge conspiracy here, its not the federal reserve lol! And yes there should be a registration system for all cars/automobiles that will be driv...

Re: Suspension and Judgement under HTA

OK well I guess the licence holder would need to revoke the licence then rather than leave it in 'expired' condition ? thank you for your helpful advice Simon.

Re: new car impound law

you can always go the freeman route What do you mean? Who is this guy Freeman? :? Hi Radar Yes I know the government will seize anything it likes. I realise that, I was just wanting some facts about how they can take property from anyone without it being called theft like if we were to do same. Nev...

Re: Insurance

Yes Simon.... and there is a question insofar as 'vehicle owner' also because how would one determine who the owner actually is if the car is not registered ? It would seem that only if car is registered the 'owner' can be identified as such. For example .. what if a group of people owned it jointly...

Re: Nobody likes it when police focus on quotas. So why do t

Thank you for the interesting article. Its quite easy to sue the police. They are not immune. Take the matter to civil court. Make sure you have everything documented in a Statement of Claim. My family has experienced the over zealous cops. The most irritating ones are the ones who seem to enjoy dis...

Re: Suspension and Judgement under HTA

PS. I dont see how someone can be suspended (unless by hanging ;-) ) A licence to use can be suspended from use. And a determination that someone be prevented from Driving (even without having applied for a licence) could be in effect. But a man/woman cannot be suspended only a licence.... thats why...

Re: Disclosure any advise

If you serve the notice for disclosure with Registered Mail they cannot dispute the proof of your request. You should not proceed without full disclosure and you can get it dismissed if they continue to disregard your rights.

Re: new car impound law

Yes I suppose it is beating a dead horse in a way. But whilst you do in fact INFORM the Ministry that you have bought a car and have equitable ownership in it, you are now submitting the title to them (Ministry/Crown.) Because they HOLD title as it were they have the power to seize. I hate to disagr...

Re: Insurance

Thank you RI. So only a Registered Owner needs insurance ? What if the car is not registered who insures it then?

Viper1 What if the car belongs to someone via a Bill of Sale but not registered at this point, who is required to insure it and which section of the Act states this please ?

Re: Suspension and Judgement under HTA

I see what you mean... but the suspension ticket would be the one to give if licence was not expired. When something is expired it is not in effect/dead/not valid etc..... Therefore the Driving with no licence would be the one to be given in this regard. It only makes sense that way. You can't possi...
