Re: Prosecutor mentality re deals, I don't get it, enlighten
Well I don't think that is "it", in the last courthouse I was in I sat near the front on purpose to see what was being offered, and it did not matter what the person did, they were ALL being offered "Disobey Sign", and the people had a wide variety of charges where some were not ...

Prosecutor mentality re deals, I don't get it, enlighten me
So unfortunately I have had a few tickets in the last 5 or 6 years. Thankfully Ticketcombat saved me from one or two. Here is what I don't get though. On your first appearance, the Crown will usually offer most people a deal, ok great. Its usually a reduced fine, and often times a lesser charge with...

Re: 3rd careless driving. Help
Their testing is much more comprehensive and expensive, I have family in Switzerland who spent ~$3000CAD just to get on the road. They have mandatory 25hrs in-class theory, and minimum of 50hrs instructed driving; road-test includes: night, autobahn, in-town and other emergency scenarios (ie. chang...

Re: HTA cited incorrectly, fatal error? pic attached help AS
I guess that is exactly where things stand then, one big grey area for now, and a cr*p shoot, damn I am torn on this. Very interesting case that last one thanks for posting. The fact that the ticket was changed without the defendant present alone should have got the appeal granted, as I am quite sur...

Re: HTA cited incorrectly, fatal error? pic attached help AS
Does anyone know whether or not the HTA being cited incorrectly IS actually a fatal error?
As I mentioned in the OP, it seems very grey, and I think I seen cases go either way, so it would be interesting to know what the actual law is regarding this
Thanks again

HTA cited incorrectly, fatal error? pic attached help ASAP
This seems like a slightly grey area so I decided to challenge the ticket for now instead of completely ignoring it, in order to give me a little more time to decide and get advice on if this will be seen as a fatal error or not. I have a court date coming up SOON and have also filed for disclosure ...

Re: Ticketed for Checking Time on Cellphone
Jeez I see the reasoning here but at the same time it seems harsh too. What about the person using their GPS on the cellphone, I guess they are screwed too? (if caught holding it I guess) I wonder if the phone is in a "holder" and being used as GPS if this is okay? (technically you can sti...

Re: Motor Vehicle Involved (N) Checked - When to bring up.
Okay bud, well you go through the whole process and come back here and tell me that my advice was incorrect. *Edited by forum* I've seen a bunch of your posts, and its really much more about HOW you are giving advice that is an issue, you have a bone to pick with almost every poster who comes here ...

Sticker expired, court this week 2 fast questions please
Very close to an 11b actually, under the new guidelines, my court date will be 10 months and 25 days from the offense date, which I understand might have even been considered but I did not realize this until now, so don't have 15 days before court to file for it. So back in June I went for an early ...

Re: Speeding Defenses + 11b Q
Well just goes to show that diligence, knowledge and some hard work paid off, you really didn't want that ticket! I am with you on the reduction of a ticket, I could care less about the fine and demerits, its the crooked insurance companies that really piss me off, and the main reason I fight any ti...

Re: NEED HELP - Stunt charge - Some initial questions please
Date of offence and date of conviction are on the abstracts that I look at in court. Can't say about the ones that the insurance company may get. As for demerit points though (insurance companies really don't care about them) they come off after 2 years from the date of offence. Thank you for that....

Re: NEED HELP - Stunt charge - Some initial questions please
Seems like you got a really good deal out of it for 149 over. My question to you : did you talk to the Crown at the trial day? or did you go to an early resolution meeting? what did you bring with you when you talk to the Crown ? any caselaws you have brought up ? And following the 149 over, how mu...

Re: NEED HELP - Stunt charge - Some initial questions please
Well here we go again (Insurance scam/saga continues). So I got very careless with my papers at home and somehow lost my renewal or never got it, and a few months ago I got pulled over after I pulled in front of an officer, not speeding, seatbelt on, confident I was 'in the clear'. I asked him what ...

Re: Ticket for no valid permit, will it affect my Insurance?
Thanks for the reply. I have not called to confirm yet but I'm betting you are right and it will count. One of the tickets is going to drop off soon, but even with 2 my Insurance is much too high, bluddy crooks Does the Crown have the power to change it to a parking ticket maybe? As you say, most ti...
