75 In A 60 Zone

Unread post by pocho »

more than a year ago I had a ticket for speeding 78 km/h in a 60 zone. The ticket was reduced to 75 km/h.

I decided to go to trial, but the judge adjourned the case because disclosure wasn;t provided on time by the prosecution. My new court date is in december 2011.

I have received the disclosure and nothing seems wrong, so basically, I want to plead guilty, what can I do?, can I just go online and paid the original ticket and that is it?, do I have to appear in court anyway?, even if I pay the ticket?

the prosecutor threatened to charge me with the original ticket which will give me 3 demerit points, so if I paid the reduced ticket, is there a risk that the prosecutor still decides to proceed with the case and charge me with the 78 km.h on a 60 zone????

You can change your plea to guilty at your next trial date. The prosecutor won't raise the ticket back up to the full amount if there is no trial.
