Driver Fail To Properly Wear Seatbelt
Wife was pulled over by an OPP officer in town for having her seat belt under her arm and not over the shoulder. How many demerit points is this and is it fight able in court.... Or any way to get a lesser charge. Set fine is $200 - $240 total payable. Any help or advice appreciated. Thanks
Re: Driver Fail To Properly Wear Seatbelt
There are 2 points for seatbelt offences. Success at fighting the charge would be dependent on the officer's actual observations and any admissions your wife may have made. I can't think of any lesser charge that would apply, but the Crown would probably offer you a plea deal to a reduced fine.
