“Beadlock Rims”

My apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere. (I did a search and was unable to find anything on the topic). Quite simply, are beadlock rims legal for use in Ontario? I am asking about engineered rims that have an externally bolted ring designed to secure the bead of a tire and not "modified" rims that have been welded in someone's backyard. I have been through the HTA and requested information from the MoT (still waiting for a response). There seems to be varying opinions and a great deal of speculation, yet I was wondering if anyone had any legal experience with this.
