Driving With Expired Plates
so when you go to get the new sticker, i pay sticker fee and fine, or fine then sticker, and are there any demerit points with this offence, and insurance rate ?
Re: Driving With Expired Plates
I don't think it matters whether you renew the sticker or pay the fine first, just as long as you pay the fine with in 15 days of getting the ticket so they don't suspend your licence. The fine can't be paid at Service Ontario where you renew your sticker, you have to send that payment to the court in the jurisdiction where the ticket was issued. There are no demerit points for this offence. Your insurance company can use this offence to raise your insurance rates. Some insurance companies will forgive one minor ticket some won't, so you would have to check with your insurance company to be sure.
