T-boned
Last week my daughter's car, that she owned for 5 weeks was t-boned by somebody who ran a stop sign.
Her car was a total write off, his whole front end was crushed.
My question, when the police arrived, he admitted to driving too fast and running the stop sign.
I am looking at the report, he is being charged under the Highway Traffic Act 136.
What are the consequences for him. He was lucky there was a ditch the car was thrown into and not a wall. This could have been a lot worse.
Re: T-boned
what do you mean; what are the consequences for him.
It's kinda irrelevant,
1> Your insurance "at fault" determination is not based on a police report, but who they believe is at fault
2> If he is charged with anything, that is down to him and the police.
* NO you cant touch your phone
* Speeding is speeding
* Challenge every ticket
* Impaired driving, you should be locked up UNDER the jail
Re: T-boned
if you are claiming damages from him; same thing;
however I always believed that in thoes cases, having a police report in your favor helps
* NO you cant touch your phone
* Speeding is speeding
* Challenge every ticket
* Impaired driving, you should be locked up UNDER the jail
Re: T-boned
He is looking at $85 fine ($105 after victim surcharge) and 3 demerit points. He will also have an at fault accident on his record which will result in an insurance increase.
Re: T-boned
again; it's nothing to do with the 3rd party,
no issue with asking,
the driver is going to be dealing with the insurance with the resulting of the accident; may be asked to be a witness (?) doubt it
and he gets on with his/her life.
it's really no matter either way, what the other driver is or will be charged with, just as it's no business or concern the driver had for breakfast
* NO you cant touch your phone
* Speeding is speeding
* Challenge every ticket
* Impaired driving, you should be locked up UNDER the jail
