Yellow Lane Markings On Highway 401 [ontario]
Hello!
While driving to work today i noticed something I've never really paid attention to before. I was browsing this forum not long ago and found out a solid yellow line is legal to pass in Ontario so I've been paying more attention to road marking recently.
The leftmost lane marking on highway 401 is solid yellow, whereas the rightmost is solid white. What's the reasoning for this?

A yellow line indicates traffic on the other side is travelling in the opposite direction. White lines indicate that vehicles are travelling in the same direction.

Thanks! Does that still apply with a barricade in the middle? I figured it would be a no parking area or something similar to that!
