Cop Shades
Police officer all seem to wear Sunglasses.
Are these offical parts of there uniform? Or are there shades more of a "cop culture" thing?
If it's a culture thing are there any regulations around which ones they can use, since they all seem to use a similiar style?

Have you ever used polarized shades? World of difference when you can remove "glare". Besides you just ain't cool if you don't look like this:

Our office is outdoors with glare all day. Certainly going to protect my eyesight. Glasses are not issued for the most part, unless it is a specialty type of unit. Marine units are issued glasses for the increased glare. MC riders are issued glasses that are safety sunglasses, to prevent a stone in the eyeball.
Quite a few officers that wear glasses have the lenses that automatically tint themselves pending the brightness.
Most of us just buy cheapy glasses as you set them down in the car, forget them, fall on the floor, slide across the dash or whatever. Certainly with not going to spend $150 on a pair of Oakleys, when a set of safety glasses runs $8 at a local safety store. If they get lost, broken or scratched....not out a lot of coin.
Here can buy a pair....Nascar GT sunglasses

Just remembered most truckers wear sunglasses and seems every road construction person has them too. Rarely do I see a boater without shades either.

Then You'll look cool LIKE ME!!! LOL
Dog the Bounty Hunter and many of our finest would never go after a nasty perp without their shades. Not having them would just spoil the whole image.
Say, what ever did become of the Village People?
