Expired Plate Sticker Ticket, But My Vehicle Is Parked

Unread post by robinl »

Bought the sticker this morning (Current sticker is expired) and left it clearly visible in the dash board for the day. Had to wait until I got home this evening to remove the plate covers and put on the sticker properly. I was given a ticket while the car sat for the day. We did not drive the car because of the expired sticker, yet we get a ticket when the car is parked?? This does not seem fair.

Any advice or similar experiences?

Without further details, I don't think we can help.

What kind of ticket did you get?

Was it placed on the vehicle or served to you?

What was the offence listed on the ticket?

If you were parked on the road parking enforcement now give tickets for expired plates. You are required to have valid plates to park on the road, some cities you need valid plates for cars on private property.

FYI plate covers are also illegal.

Just lie and said your not sure why you go the ticket and that the sticker was on there.

As long as your receipt has a time stamp BEFORE the ticket, they'll cancel it

Please refrain from giving people advice to lie. If this ends up in court the penalty for perjury is far greater than the face value of the ticket.
