Incorrect Information On Ticket

Unread post by byttr »

HI, just wondering what, if any, chance I have of getting off a speeding ticket based on incorrect driver's licence and birth-date recorded on offence notice (ticket)?

I received a notice of trial and realized the mistake, then checked the ticket and saw the error was directly transferred from the ticket. Trial is January 11, 2011 - I faxed a request for disclosure to the davis drive court house in newmarket. BTW can anyone confirm the fax ? I have 905-898-3747.

thanks

I had the same and it was fixed, applied to my record. If you can find more mistakes that may help you.

what happens if i default on the ticket? does it get screwed up in the system some how since it's the wrong driver's licence number and doesn't get applied, or gets applied to someone else's driver's licence? I think an incorrect driver's licence number is fairly significant...

nope, if you go to court they will correct the error. Try not going and see what happens....you can always appeal.

This is my second request for disclosure submission; I have sent it to 3 different fax numbers: 905-895-3768 ; 905-898-5218 ; 905-898-3747. Not sure which one is correct or which if any is the prosecutor's office.

all Fax submissions are confirmed with the correct number except for 905-895-3765 ; for some reason the transmission states completed but the remote station number changes to some odd number, 9065830444...anyone observe this?

My court date is only a month away and still no disclosure - any guidelines on how to proceed if I don't receive it? should I send it registered mail?

thanks for any help,

zia

Are you expecting them to drop the ticket?

I can't really see a successful argument being made in court: that since the officer made an error in transcribing accurately, they may have also erred in what led them to believing you committed an offense.
