“Careless Driving - Community Service Hours - Not Done”

in Sept 2015 my brother was charged with careless driving after an accident he was in. he went to court and pled guilty and was given a fine and community service hours.

he has yet to complete any of the hours and they are due soon.

how quickly does the court find out about uncompleted hours and what are the penalties?

is community service often given for a careless charge?

Mind if i ask, how did he manage to get the community service deal?

Also, was the deal that if he does community service, the ticket would be dropped or he just wouldn't have to pay the fee?

If the court ordered community service hours, then has to complete them by when they are due. If he can't do that then he needs to go to court house and ask to go before a JP to get an extension on the time required.

They likely only extend the time period of he can show why they haven't been done, or well started yet...there must have been a effort put in on attempting to complete the hours.
