Dashcam Legal Question

Unread post by bobajob »

Hi guy's

I just had my dashcam fitted. Thinkware F50, nice jobbie

But for some reason, the time stamp is 10 minutes out, so when it says 10:10am it is actually 10:00am

Now I am looking into it but could this present a problem if I had to show a clip in court,

Could a prosecutor or judge throw it out stating the time was wrong, not sure how they would know,

as it's only 10 minutes, so you'd say the incident happened about 10am, unless of course an LEO

stated 10:00am

I also have the speed stamp disabled for obvious reasons.

Thanks

I don't see an issue. Traffic matters are more focused on what happens as opposed to when. You can always explain things like this in testimony.

Former Ontario Police Officer. Advice will become less relevant as the time goes by !

Don't mean to take over you thread, but in regards to dashcams, I too have one in my vehicle, blackvue 750lw 2ch , and have caught many cars going through red light, after stopping for them, then blowing them. The HTA is find committing but , could that be passed on to police service and used the same as a red light camera?
