Court Date Refused Through Mail?...
A co-worker got a speeding ticket. I told him the usual, "Mail in your Not-Guilty plea and wait for a court date, now get lost, I'm busy..."
A couple weeks later, he receives a return mailing stating he must attend in person to request a trial. What?!!!!
First I've ever heard of this. Kitchener court... Any thoughts?
If it's games they want, it's games they'll get, hehehehe >:]

more and more courts are going to this system that you can not mail in to request a trial, but must show up in person.
Windsor is like this and works very well.
What's wrong with mailing it? My last ticket was 2 hours away. So I'm supposed to drive 4 hours (endangering hundreds of others on the road, LOL) just to get a court date? And this is smarter?
Perhaps I'll suggest that the crown deliver the date in person to his house, LOL.

use at your own risk"
The process seems to be changing i've noticed. In Mississauga, you no longer get a trial date sent by mail. Trial dates are printed and handed to you on the spot. I don't remember if I had to sign it or not, but i'm pretty sure I did.
I don't know if it has anything to do with the new process, but the wait for your trial date is significantly shorter also.
