Second Offense Driving Without Insurance
I have heard mention that the second offense can bring potential jail time? Is this true or is a very high fine the outcome?
The first time the fine was brought down by the judge to 2000.00. My wife and I are quite concerned with this possible outcome for me. I have never had an accident thankfully and no speeding tickets in a long time. I have since managed to get my insurance, the second offense taking place a week before I managed to get it.
Any help to bring my stress levels down??
Driving Without Insurance
The fine for a second offense for driving without insurance, under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act is a 10,000 dollar fine.
They will not send you to jail. Plus they will add a victim fine surcharge of 2,500 dollars (tax).
So the only thing your facing is a 12,500 fine - no jail.

With $12 500 on the line... I'd suggest seeking some sort of professional help (paralegal, lawyer). Second offence is going to be pretty hard to get a reduction on.
