ONTARIO -- Two OPP officers have been injured in a two vehicle crash north Brampton on Saturday that involved two of their own cruisers. The crash happened near the intersection of King Street and Torbram Road in Caledon just before 2 p.m.
The officers were responding to a 911 call in the area. Police say both officers suffered minor injuries.
The officers were responding to reports of a domestic assault inside a home on King Street. When they arrived, a suspect was leaving the home causing one cruiser to slam on its breaks to avoid colliding with the suspect's vehicle which resulted in the first cruiser being rear-ended by a second cruiser following in pursuit.
The victim of the assault has been airlifted to hospital with serious head injuries.
Wait isnt that stunt driving under the law.??
Isnt skidding a stunt!!!!!!
Wait guys dont we also need a law telling officers to drive slower because it was cold out they should no their cars would have less grip on the road to!!!
Or i got another idea. All cars should have sensors that limit the car to 100 km/h if its below -5.
If the second cruiser slammed into the first one isnt that aggressive driving. He must have been tailgating!!!! Fine them Julian.
By the way i wasn't a bit serious there.
I am tired of police state, we dont need cops or politicians to make more laws and rules. We have enough. Let people be free and exercise common sense. None of these new stupid laws or rules will make us any safer nor have they. 172 is a perfect example.
Then they say we should take fines from traffic violates. Learn a lesson, every cent the government gets they spend, they never reduce spending they only increase it. And they tax you by printing the rest of it.

Nope. That said, I hope that he's recuperating.
I think Fantino needs to make a law in which a emergency or quick stop that leads to lose control of the car be made illegal and have heavy penalties this will slow people down.
Also there should be some legislation against hitting trees. This could be like some form of DUI that could heavily fine someone for hitting a tree.
Sad thing i wouldn't even be surprise do see Fantino or Dalton do it.

It will be something under the "Environmental Protection Act"...striking the tree will cause it to die or at least become distraught and not be able to produce enough leaves, hence warming the environment
Then a public inquiry will have to be held wasting thousands of dollars, paper documents to no end, thus killing more trees, creating more global warming and another inquiry.....a vicious cycle in the killing of the earth...
hey hwybear speaking of environmental acts and all this had me thinking.
Apparently up in Barrie there was a 50 year OPP aniversary or something and i saw the sexiest black charger ( pic of it).
Is that one of those 5.7L V8's. Those cars look so nice.
But i was reading the OPP's site they said the objective was to keep the cruisers visible with the crown vic style police interceptor and have them all look the same.
Well i dont know where you work but i am sure this is the policy of the highway detachments.
They also seem to use black/blue/grey interceptors solid colour for undercover vehicles, with no hub caps.
I was also reading it is the law now that all police and emergency vehicles must have a reflective strip on the back bumper, even if undercover i heard they must still be aware if it is a police officer.
haha next time your in the fast lane on the 401 and hwybear is infront remember to flash your highbeams to see if that bumper is reflective. haha maybee by then its to late and pull out the tim hortons gift card. Just a joke

OPP follows recommendations from Michigan State Police vehicle testing as far as purchasing front line vehicles which are pursuit rated. So the ones that passed at Crown Vic, Charger, Impala, Tahoe. So any of those can be front line.
I have yet to see a Charger with a HEMI anywhere in the OPP. There was ones purchased as 100 yr anniversary cars, but don't know why a charger as compared to old faithful crown vic
The reflective tape on even unmarked traffic cars is not law, it is a decision by management.
