Filing For Trial After 15 Days
I received a speeding ticket june 16th. I was planning to go tomorrow and file for a trial date(plead not guilty) but i just remembered it's canada day and they do not work. I have to go to 137 edward street.
Does anyone know if they will accept it if i file it on monday? That will be 2 days overdue after the 15days period to file? I do not know what to do.
Has anyone ever been in this situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You will be fine over 2 days.
Re: Filing For Trial After 15 Days
They will usually let you file the ticket for trial right up until the prosecutor's office files a motion with the court to get a default judgment against you. Theoretically they can do that after 15 days have passed but in reality it usually takes them longer and certainly no one will have done that over the long weekend. So if you go in on Monday you should be still be able to request a trial.
