Is This Cat Back Exhaust Legal In Ontario ?

Unread post by iriakhov »

Does anyone know if the following exhaust legal in Ontario? http://www.tdotperformance.ca/magnaflow ... l?___SID=U

Magnaflow 16719 - Stainless Cat-Back System Performance Exhaust - Dual Split Rear Exit

Magnaflow - Stainless Cat-Back System Performance Exhaust. Key Features: Touring Series, 5 X 8 X 18In. Muffler, 4 X 9 X 14In. Resonator; 3.0In. Tubing; 4.0In. Polished Stainless Tip; Dual Split Rear Exit.

Also on another note, if you go to court, make a deal, are the court services obligated to send you an invoice via mail for settled fine? Or if the judge notified me that I got 30 days to pay the fine than no invoice will come?

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

From a technical standpoint, yes it would be legal. As long as you're bolting them up straight to a set of catalytic converters and not replacing them with a set of test pipes while you're at it.

That being said, there's a noise factor that is vague. There's no noise chart to go off of in the highway traffic act. If an officer deems the noise to be too excessive, they'll hand you a ticket.

Probably not.

The resonator helps get rid of high tin can raspy noise you hear from some cars. The muffler will take care of the rest.

Make sure you're not tempted to start touching your cat converters. It's illegal to run test pipes/long tube header from an emissions standpoint. The sound from the exhaust will also crank up enough to get you some unwanted attention.
